London, July 23 : The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) UK Chapter raised fund to provide fellowship to journalists affected from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The UK Chapter of FNJ said that it collected Rs 516,000 to assist altogether 25 journalists from across the country. It is said that each journalist will be provided with Rs 20,000 in fellowship.
The fellowship amount would be given away to the awarded journalists through the FNJ central committee. As decided, the amount has already been deposited to the bank account of the FNJ central committee.
A meeting of the FNJ UK Chapter held in the second week of last June had decided to assist the journalists suffering in the COVID-19 pandemic.
