By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Jan. 19: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has decided to hold its central general convention on February 16-17 in Kathmandu.
The 12th Central Committee meeting of the FNJ held in Helambu of Sindhupalchwok district decided to hold the elections in all its three levels - Central, Provincial and Branches election on the same day within one month after the conclusion of the central general convention as per its statute.
The meeting shouldered the responsibility to its central office to form a central election committee to hold the election.
According to a statement issued by the FNJ on Monday, a seven-member election committee would be formed under the leadership of senior journalist with four lawyers and two journalists from inclusive cluster. The FNJ will fix the election day after consulting with the election committee.
The meeting also decided to stand for constitution implementation and institutional development of the federal democratic republic.
