Mahottari, July 4: The incessant rainfall since last Tuesday has collapsed the houses of some locals at Ramnagar in Bhangaha Rural Municipality- 4 in Mahottari district while flood led to inundation to over 150 houses in the locality.
Upendra Kapar’s house was demolished by the rain. “Thank God, the house did not claim any life when it collapsed,” he remarked.
The settlement of Chamar, Mushahar and Muslim communities was waterlogged. Aisha Khatun, a single woman in the settlement, worried, “We are poor people. Who pays heed to our voices?”
