Ranjha, April 17: Five people who were killed in a road accident that occurred near Kohalpur of Banke on Friday evening have been identified.
They are Uday Batha, 21, of Kohalpur municipality-12; Khagendra Bahadur Sunar, 25, of Kohalpur-13; Jeevan Kumar BK, 41, of Satakhani-7, Surkhet; Chhatra Bahadur Katawal, 45, of Mechi municipality-10, Jhapa and Ambika Kanti, 32, of Sukhipur rural municipality-3, Siraha, according to the Area Police Office, Kohalpur chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal.
Ambika's one-and-a-half-year-old daughter who was accompanying her mother was left unhurt in the accident and she is under the care of Teaching Hospital, Kohalpur.
A total of 37 people were on board the passenger bus (Me 1 Kha 3347) when it met with the accident as it was heading towards Dharan from Surkhet. The bus and an 'on-test' container collided near the Rohoni Bridge along the East-West Highway at Kohalpur-13.
