By Salim Ansari, Pyuthan, Apr 14: At least five people have died while 16 others got injured when a jeep veered off the road while trying to overtake a bus at a bend at Rumale, Swargadwari Municipality-3 in the district.
There were 16 passengers in the ill-fated jeep with registration no Lu 1 Ja 1655. All the passengers were the employees of the district administration office of Gulmi and their family members.
The jeep was heading to Swargadwari, a religious site, for the passengers to mark the Nepali New Year.
Buddhi Rana, sub-inspector at district police office in Pyuthan, said that three of the passengers died on the spot while two passed away in course of treatment in the hospital.
