Dhangadi, June 7 : State Assembly members of Sudurpaschim State have drawn the government’s attention towards effective preventive measures and watch over the COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
In the meeting of the State Assembly convened today, Nepal Communist Party (NCP)’s Dirgha Bahadur Sodari urged the government to accelerate the efforts to control the pandemic. He cited a kidney-patient in Dhangadi who had tested positive for COVID-19 following his demise and said it had indicated towards the gravity of the COVID-19 situation in Sudurpaschim State.
Similarly, Nepali Congress (NC)'s Bharat Bahadur Khadka demanded proper management of quarantine facilities in the State. He also prodded for setting up a lab in Doti and Baitadi districts to expand the scope of COVID-19 test in the district.
NCP’s Purna Joshi spoke of the need to pay proper attention for prevention of COVID-19 in the State. He recalled the death of a person who was quarantined at KI Singh Rural Municipality of Doti district and voiced his concern over the poor management in the quarantine facilities.
During the meeting, the State Assembly approved the proposal seeking endorsement to set up a National Academy in Sudurpaschim State, paving a path for promotion and preservation of languages, arts and cultures among others in the State.
