Kathmandu, Nov. 2: Ambassador of the European Union to Nepal, Nona Deprez, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal.
During the meeting held at the Ministry on Wednesday, matters of bilateral and multilateral interest were discussed. Saying Nepal has been moving ahead towards economic development along with political stability, Minister Bhusal expressed the belief that the EU would help Nepal for the same.
She thanked the EU for monetary and humanitarian support and briefed the EU Ambassador about impact of climate change in Nepal. The Energy Minister stressed that the EU and member countries should pay attention on this issue, while calling for solidarity on the issue of climate change.
Similarly, Ambassador Deprez mentioned that collective initiative was key to tackling the impact of climate change and expressed solidarity with Nepal on this issue.
The EU and member countries have special interest in the sector of alternative energy and are ready to collaborate with Nepal in its promotion, added the Ambassador.
