By Our Correspondent, Rajbiraj, Mar. 15: The government has set up eight health desks in different places on Nepal-India border in Saptari district as a precaution to control COVID-19.
According to District Health Office, 32 health workers have been deputed in the health desks in two shifts.
The health workers have, however, been forced to conduct health check-up of the Nepali migrants coming from India without having Thermal Guard, enough aprons and other fever detecting equipment.
The health desks were opened on Nepal border targeting Nepali migrant workers working in India.
All border points in Saptari district have been kept under tight surveillance.
District Health Office Chief Duniya Lal Yadav said that the health desks were opened at Belhi and Ramnagarkodarkatti of Balan Bihul Gaunpalika, Rajbiraj Airport, Pato of Dakneshwori Municipality, Banainiya of Rajgadh Gaunpalika, and Belhi customs (Kunauli) of Tilathi Koiladi Gaunpalika.
Also, the Health Office has set up health desks at Bhardaha of Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality and Rampura Malhaniya.
Yadav said that the office has also prepared to set up similar desks at Deuri, Tarai, Aurahi and Bhutahi of the border, Jhutaki, Chhinamasta, Govindapur, Gobargada, and Gamariya.
He said that out of 32 health workers, only six have been provided an apron. Only two workers are deputed at one time, he said.
Health workers are forced to conduct the health check-up of the Nepali migrants coming from India just wearing an apron and a mask, Yadav said.
Nepal side officials have also been maintaining coordination with the Indian security officials (Sashastra Seema Bal) while monitoring people’s movements.
