Kanchanpur, June 3 : Drone cameras are being used to keep an eye against illegal activities including poaching of wildlife and smuggling of forest products in the forests in the district.
The Division Forest Office, Kanchanpur has used two drone cameras in rent to monitor the forest areas aimed at controlling the irregularities in the forest.
The forest officer Ajay Bikram Manandhar shared that they were planning to purchase the drone cameras to monitor the forest. He added that they were imparting training to the technicians for operating the drone as other means of monitoring were not found effective in dense and remote forest areas.
Patrolling and other kinds of mobilization were also not possible in this pandemic hour therefore such technology could be more effective, Manandhar said.
