By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 18: Manjima Dhakal has been elected as the Chairperson of the Press Center, Nepal, (PCN) Gorkhapatra chapter.
The fifth conference of the PCN Gorkhapatra chapter elected unanimously a new 13-member executive committee under chair Dhakal, with Sujan Gurung as secretary and Shiva Tamang as treasurer.
Addressing the inaugural session, a member of the PCN central office, Bishnu Sapkota 'Jugal' urged the journalists to write for attaining the goals as provisioned in the constitution which was achieved after lots of sacrifices.
He highlighted that the PCN will work for working journalists, to enhance professionalism and ensure job security. "We protest all the forms of haphazard removal of journalists from their job in any media house," he said.
The programme was also addressed, among others, by a central member of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Ram Krishna Adhikari, PCN central member Rajesh Chamling Rai and Keshav Raj Khanal and coordinator of the advisory council of Nepal National Employee Organisation, Gorkhapatra chapter, Som Ghale.
