By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 19: Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) is holding its Ward level convention across the country tomorrow, Saturday.

Preparations for the convention in all 6,743 wards of local levels have been completed, according to Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the party's spokesperson.

The CPN (Maoist Center) has pinned hope that the Ward level convention will be a milestone to build the party in a new way.

Focusing that transformation was needed from the grass root level for accomplishing the journey of socialism, the party has set the slogan 'Let's build a new revolutionary thought and a new revolutionary party.'

The party has urged all its rank and file to make utmost effort for electing the Ward committees unanimously. 'But if election has to be conducted, they should be done so in a dignified way upholding the party's internal democracy."

Chief of the party's election commission, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, said election committees have been formed to conduct elections in all levels- Ward, Local, Provincial and National.

We have formed 3-member election committee at Ward level, 5-member committee at Local/municipal level and 7-member committee for Provincial level.

The CPN (Maoist Center) is holding its Local/Municipal level election on 27 November and Provincial election on December 11.

The party has decided to hold its national conference on 26-28 December to elect a new central committee of the party.

The Maoist party has said that details of over 800,000 party members have been received and recorded while details of some remaining party members are yet to be recorded in the digital system.
