By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct. 24: With 2,225 new cases of the novel coronavirus infection confirmed on Saturday, the national COVID-19 caseload has reached 155,233.
"In 13,846 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 2,225 persons, 779 females and 1,446 males were found to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2," informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its update.
Currently, there are 46,057 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 32,873 are in home isolation. Some 309 COVID-19 patients are admitted to the ICU while 70 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility. A total of 3,322 persons are currently placed in quarantine.
Meanwhile, 2,846 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 108,334 cases of recoveries and the recovery rate stands at 69.8 per cent.
As many as 13 people have succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours and with this, the national COVID-19 related death tally has reached 842.
