Bajhang, May 7 : Bajhang district is facing a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and kits for coronavirus test. There is a paucity of coronavirus kits at a time when 675 people who are in quarantine need to undergo the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) for coronavirus.
It is said the District Health Office has only 60 RDT kits left out of the 1,100 kits provided. Office chief Bhanu Joshi said so far RDT has been done on 875 people and the swab test on 71 people. All those undergoing the tests have tested negative.
He said problems have been faced in carrying out and expanding the tests due to the shortage of PPE, thermal gun and test kits in the district.
According to him, tests for coronavirus have still not been carried out on 613 people who entered the district last week through Jhulaghat and Dharchula transit points from India.
