Janakpur, May 9 : A special hospital to treat coronavirus infected persons has come into operation here today. The hospital is established by the State-2 government in the premises of Nursing Campus.
The 50-bed hospital has 8-bed ICU unit, said Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire, secretary at the Social Development Ministry of the State. He added that the hospital is prepared as the level-2 hospital where critical COVID-19 patients referred from level-1 hospital established at the State Hospital would be treated.
Meanwhile, 8-bed isolation unit has also been established at Pokhariya-4 of Parsa district. The State government has shared that the swab collection will be intensified in most affected areas by increasing the human resources soon.
A total of 30 persons are found infected with COVID-19 in the State till today. Of them, two have returned home after complete recovery while 28 are undergoing treatment at Birgunj-based Narayani Hospital.
