Ratnanagar, April 30 : Ratanagar municipality in Chitwan district has commenced the construction works of a disabled-friendly overhead bridge at Tandichowk along the East-West Highway.
Officials said this is the first of its kind bridge in the district and another overhead bridge is also being constructed in the municipality with the rapid pace of urbanization.
Mayor Narayan Ban and deputy mayor Bimala Duwadi today laid a foundation stone of the bridge, which is estimated to cost Rs 24.2 million. This is a multi-year plan project. The state government would contribute Rs 10 million while remaining 14.2 million would be provided by the municipality.
Lifts would be fixed in order to make the bridge disabled-friendly.
