Khalanga, July 5: Kankasundari rural municipality, a remote place in Jumla district, has finally access to smooth communication services.
Communication access in the rural municipality which lies one day of walking from district headquarters Khalanga has brought cheer to the locals of Malikabola, Lekpur, Neta, Chautha, Nyaurigad among others places.
Earlier, the locals here would walk hours to highland to make calls as the signals of telecommunications was weak in their locality. Lately, every household receives a good signal of communication service and they could communicate with their family, friends and relatives through cell phones, gushed Govinda Buda, a local.
Kankai Rural Municipality-2 chairperson Sher Bahadur Rawat shared that over a dozen of villages inwards no 1 and 2 in the rural municipality have come under the ambit of communication since last October.
Many places in rural municipalities in the district such as Tatopani, Tila, Paratashi and Hamam, however, still sans communication services, said Kankasundari rural municipality ward no 2’s secretary Hari Bahadur Buda.
