Kathmandu, Oct 11: Nepali Congress vice president Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar expressed his hope that Nepal would secure a historic achievement from Chinese President Xi Jinping's Nepal visit beginning from Saturday.
Talking to media persons briefly at Biratnagar Airport on Friday, the former Deputy Prime Minister said, "All Nepalis are enthusiastic about Chinese President's visit taking place after 23 years."
He described the visit as a happy occasion for Nepal. The achievement from the visit would depend on the government.
The NC vice-president was of the view that Nepal would obtain economic, business and touristic benefits from the (proposed) Kathmandu-Kerung railway, adding Nepal should try its best to ensure maximum benefits from world's two powerful nations China and India.
As he said, Nepal should take a lesson from these nations being developed in an accelerating pace. He took time to say that Nepali people were committed to democracy and would not accept any other system.
