Flights have begun from various cities of China to Nepal and it will help increase the inflow of Chinese tourists in Nepal, he said.

"The inflow of Chinese tourists increases every day and every year. We are working to bring in more than 500,000 Chinese tourists in 2020," he said.

“Chinese New Year is coming. In order to help Chinese tourists in Nepal to spend a peaceful Spring Festival holiday, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal has organised Chinese volunteer service at the airport for three consecutive years, so that Chinese tourists can feel the warmth of their home when they arrive in Nepal,” said Ambassador Hou.

Ambassador Hou emphasised that the Chinese government always attached great importance to safeguarding the safety and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese compatriots overseas.

The embassy in Nepal actively builds an overseas Chinese security system, cooperates closely with relevant Nepali authorities, improves the working mechanism of consular protection, and implements preventive insurance, she said.

Stating that the embassy recently completed the insurance promotional video “Travelling Peacefully in Nepal” which is currently circulating in Tribhivan International Airport, she urged the Chinese tourists to watch it before their trip to Nepal.

“China is willing to encourage Chinese tourists to come to Nepal. Every Chinese citizen in Nepal is promoter of Nepal tourism, a follower of local customs, and a communicator of Chinese culture,” she said.
