Beni, Jan 19 : A child ward with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been set up at Beni Hospital based in Myagdi district headquarters.
With the assistance of the Gandaki province government, the child ward has been brought into operation from Tuesday onward.
Hospital management committee chair Bel Bahadur Katuwal shared that the ward with eight-bed and ICU has come into operation at the hospital.
“Before this, children were provided treatment service along with other adult patients”, he informed.
The ward has been operated to make the child-focused treatment effective and easy. In the last fiscal year, the province government had allocated Rs 3.8 million for the operation of child ward.
It was used for building construction. Rs 26.1 million was spent for procuring and installing ICU appliances.
