Simkot, Nov 16 : The office of Sarkegard Rural Municipality located in Humla district has been padlocked since Sunday. The facilitators at Child Development Centre and school employees padlocked the office, arguing that they were not paid for long.
Facilitator at Pragati Basic School, Rupsi Chhatyal, informed that the Rural Municipality office was padlocked after the Rural Municipality turned deaf ear to the demand of salary hike to the facilitators and employees. She added that Sarkegad Rural Municipality failed to provide the increased salary.
Most of the local levels have managed salary to the facilitators at Child Development Centres and employees at school via internal resources. But, Sarkegard has failed to address it. It was the ultimate pressure created to ensuring increased salary, said Hans Bahadur Chhatyal, child development facilitator at Dudhkunda Basic School, Rodikot.
There are 32 schools in Sarkegard Rural Municipality. The child development classes are run at basic and primary schools. Currently, 60 persons- school employees and facilitators combined- are waging agitation.
