Kathmandu, Aug 19: Chairperson of Rajdhani News Publication and Constituent Assembly member, Mahendra Sherchan, died of coronavirus on Wednesday evening. He was 67.
Sherchan died in course of treatment at APF Hospital, Halchowk, according to the family source. Sherchan, the founding chairperson of Rajdhani News Publication, was also the former chairman of Media Society, an umbrella organisation of Nepali media operators.
He was also vice-chairperson of Media Alliance and a member of Advertisement Board Nepal. Sherchan was the founding chairperson of the Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA). He is survived by a wife, three sons and a daughter.
Editor of Rajdhani Daily.Com, Dhurba Lamsal, said that the last rites of Sherchan would be performed at the electric crematory at Pashupati Aryaghat today.
