Kathmandu, Mar. 23: A brief rain has been forecast at one or two places of the hilly regions today with partly to generally cloudy in the eastern region and partly cloudy in the rest of the country.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, tonight light rain or thunder and lightning is likely to take place at one or two places eastern and central hilly region. There will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions and mainly fair in the rest of the country. The local wind activates amidst the pre-monsoon period triggering the possibility of brief rain, according to meteorologist Nirajan Sapkota.
Pre-monsoon period is featured by sunshine till the afternoon and thundershowers thereafter and in the evening mainly in hilly regions. Pre-monsoon continues till May.
Similarly tomorrow or Tuesday, there will be generally cloudy in the western region with possibility of thundershowers at few places of the western hilly region. Chances remain for light snowfall in the western mountainous region.
On Wednesday, there will be partly cloudy in hilly regions and generally fair in the rest of the country. Possibility remains for brief rain accompanied by thunder and lightning one or two places of eastern and central hilly regions.
Today, the minimum temperature of Kathmandu was measured at 8.4 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature was 24.6 degree Celsius.
