By A Staff Reporter , Kathmandu, Apr. 14 : Nepal Academy has started a book exhibition on the occasion of Nepali New Year 2078 BS. Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Upreti inaugurated the exhibition on Tuesday.
Books and dictionaries published by the Academy are put on the display under the campaign ‘New Year, Let's Read New Books’. According to exhibition coordinator Sudhir Dhungel, the exhibition has been organised to help develop book reading habits.
Arrangements have been made to give 15 to 40 per cent discount in the 15-day exhibition.
Coordinator Dhungel informed that the book “Nighantu”, which gives detailed information about Nepali herbs used in Ayurveda, has just been republished.
The academy is also going to provide identity card to the creators.
Upreti, patron of the institute, said that the identity card are being distributed in honour of the creators dedicated to language, literature, culture, social sciences, research of philosophy and writing.
According to the member of Academy Dr. Devi Nepal, the identity cards will be distributed on the basis of the Literary Identity Fund published by the Academy.
In the case of the creator who is not included in the Fund, an application can be submitted along with a copy of his work to receive the identity card.
