By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 31: The 23rd general assembly of the Blood Donors Association Nepal (BLODAN) has been held here.
Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Bidya Sundar Sakya, chief guest of the ceremony, former communication minister Mohan Kumar Basnet, special guest, Divy Raj Paudel, director of central blood bank of Nepal Red Cross Society, among others, addressed the opening ceremony of the BLODAN general assembly.
BLODAN members and the organisations that contributed to the blood donation campaign were honoured in the ceremony held on Saturday.
Ujjawal KC, BLODAN central secretary, was felicitated with BLODAN of the Year while Gyanu Raja Maharjan, central advisor of BLODAN< Damodar Munkarmi, a technician at Nereso Bhaktapur blood bank, were honoured for their contribution to volunteer blood donation programmes.
Chetana Thapa, Nirmala Bogati, Baburaja Maharjan, Kishor Panta and Rukesh Ranjit were awarded a token of love for their contribution in the blood fund.
Similarly, different social organisations that helped in organising blood donation programmes amidst the COVID-19 pandemic were also felicitated for their contribution.
The assembly was held under the chairmanship of Sanu Babu Prajapati, central president of BLODAN.
