Kaski, Nov 30 : Works on black topping of the Kaski section of the Pushpalal Mid-hill Highway have been started.
The works on laying asphalt on this section of the highway has started from Suikhet. The works of laying asphalt concrete on the highway will be done from on 12-kilometre section from Yamdi, Hemja of Pokhara Metropolitan City-25 to Ghattekhola at Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality-7, in the first phase.
The Mid-hills highway is aligned with the existing Pokhara-Baglung highway in Kaski district and it is being expanded from two-lane width to four-lane.
People of Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi and Mustang districts besides residents of Hemja and Machhapuchchhre and Annapurna rural municipalities in Kaski district would be directly benefited after the black-topping of this 37 kilometres section of the Mid-hills highway.
The black-topping and road expansion works would be carried out at a cost of Rs 2 billion 936 million 600 thousand, Pushpalal (Mid-hills) Highway Project Office Parbat's engineer Ananta Baral said.
The Mid-hills Highway is a national pride project and runs through the hilly region from the eastern border to the western border of the country.
