Chitwan, March 3 : The Bharatpur Metropolitan City has provided budget to seven schools to purchase school buses.
The metropolis provided budget for this purpose to five schools last year while agreement has been signed with two schools for the same in the current fiscal year.
Chief of Bharatpur Metropolitan City's Education Division, Mahendra Poudel, said that agreement was signed to provide budget to Sajhapur Secondary School, Meghauli, and Shree Secondary School, Dhaddaghari, for buying school bus in the current fiscal year.
Both the schools would get Rs 1.750 million each. Budget was provided to Narayani Secondary School, Bhimnagar Secondary School, Kabilas Secondary School, Prabhat Secondary School and Laxmi Secondary School in the last fiscal year.
The metropolis had provided Rs 1.650 million each and the remaining budget is yet to be provided, added Poudel.
Mayor Renu Dahal said that the metropolis has been investing a huge amount in government schools to improve quality of school education and to increase attraction of students to government schools.
She further shared that the metropolitan city has also been providing scholarships to meritorious students as well as developing physical infrastructures of schools and building student-friendly classrooms.
