Bagmati, Dec 20 : Bagmati province is to construct ropeway in different parts of the province to east transportation.
The Ministry has begun a study to construct ropeway and cableway in Indra Sarowar of Makwanpur, Gosaikunda of Rasuwa and Dolakha, according to provincial minister for physical infrastructure and development Rameswar Phunyal.
Talking to RSS Minister Phunyal said the Ministry is engaged in various rounds of discussion to develop a detail project report and begin construction of the ropeways.
The increase in power production in the country provides us the ground to promote electricity-based transport, he said while adding that the provincial government was also studying the feasibility for gravity ropeway that could be run without any energy supply.
He also shared that a study will be carried out to see if the Hetauda-Kathamndu ropeway could be brought back to life and resume operation.
The ropeway was built some 102 years ago during the premiership of Rana Prime Minister Chandra Shumsher.
