Balewa, Oct 10 : The survivors of the floods and landslides that hit residents of Bobang in ward no. 9 of Dhorpatan municipality on September 2 have received financial assistance from the Baglung Sewa Samaj in the USA.
The Society has raised Rs. 2.5 million for the flood and landslides survivors. Youths living and working in the USA originally from Baglung district raised the funds to help their fellow citizens back home.
The amount was handed over to the municipality to help with the relief and rehabilitation of the survivors, said the society Treasurer Santosh Khatri. The Society's advisor Singha Bahadur Rana handed over the amount to Mayor Dev Kumar Nepali.
It may be noted that 22 people died in the incident, with 15 people still missing.
A total of 127 households in ward no. 7, 8 and 9 of the municipality were severely affected.
