By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Oct. 24: Association of Nepalese Teraian in America (ANTA) has supported Rs. 118,000 to Janakpur Women’s Development Center (JWDC).
The ANTA has provided the amount to the artists of JWDC on Thursday, ANTA president Aprajita Jha said.
“The artists of JWDC have suffered a huge loss because of the pandemic. The JWDC has been closed and as a result, their sales have dipped and also affected the production. So, we have supported the artist community of the JWDC,” Jha stated.
During the pandemic, the ANTA had earlier assisted Rs. 190,000in first phase and Rs. 100,000 in second phase to Nepalese, mostly students, living in the United States.
The JWDC is a NGO based in Janakpur, that promotes Mithila arts and empower Maithil women through the generation of income from their skills in making art and crafts.
