Tanahun, Aug 14 : The District Police Office Tanahun arrested an absconding drug abuse convict on Thursday. Police arrested Sanjaya Gharti, 25, a resident of Byas municipality-1, Bhadgaun Bigyanchaur in the district.
He went at large when the District Court sentenced him to eight days in jail along with a fine of Rs 4,000 on 29 May 2012. After more than eight years, police nabbed the convict and presented before the court.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Tanahun district Yubaraj Timilsena shared that Gharti was arrested after he was found hiding at his home in course of the search operation.
As per the court order, Gharti was sent to Kaski Prison Office to serve his jail term.
