Kathmandu, May 7 : As many as 91 journalists associated to the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) under its corporate branches have so far contracted the coronavirus.
FNJ Corporate Province shared that 91 working journalists of 25 media houses, including 19 corporate branches had been confirmed with the COVID-19.
The data was collected through telephonic conversation undertaken by FNJ Corporate Province with the chairpersons and journalists of different 48 media, including 33 corporate branches.
Corporate Province Chair Bal Krishna Adhikari informed that a central committee member elected from corporate province, a province committee member, two chairpersons of corporate branches and former central secretary among other office-bearers have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Adhikari further shared that journalists serving with 25 media house, including Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Radio Nepal, Gorkhapatra, Kantipur Television, Kantipur, Rajdhani, Nepal Television, Mountain TV, Nepal Press, Avenues, Metro FM and Naya Patrika have tested positive for the virus.
Informing that coronavirus-infected journalists are undergoing treatment at different hospitals, including Manmohan Hospital, Patan Hospital, Norvic Hospital, Teku Hospital and Nepal Police Hospital, the Corporate Province leadership has wished for the speedy recovery of entire journalists receiving treatment.
