By Our Correspondent, Bajura, July 26: A 65-year-old man has been arrested from Ward 2 of Budhiganga Municipality for raping his 14-year-old daughter several times and getting her pregnant.
The incident came in light when some locals inquired the victim after noticing her stomach was growing.
She was a six grader at a local school.
Upon inquiry, locals found out that the girl, who had started menstruating only for a year, had a six-month old baby in her womb. It was when the locals found out that the girl’s father raped her multiple times.
As per the victim, her father did not let her leave house for a week when she was bleeding excessively. Similarly, the father also told her that the regular nausea and vomiting she was suffering from would be cured slowly and warned not to tell anything about it to anyone.
With the incident known to local, the 65-year-old individual is recently in the custody of Bajura District Police Office.
Legal proceedings have begun to file a case of rape against the arrested individual, said police.
