Damauli, Oct 18 : A financial support of Rs. 650,000 was received from the Nepalis living and working in US for Santosh Ranamagar of Byas municipality-14. Ranamagar has suffered a kidney failure and is currently surviving on the basis of a dialysis.
The funds were raised at the initiative of Bhim Thapa, Bhuban Aley, Ashish Thapa and Kuldip Ranamagar currently living in Texas and New York, USA.
The amount was handed over to Ranamagar on Saturday. Tara Bahadur Thapa, father of fund raiser Bhim Thapa and ward chairperson Kajiman Shrestha handed over the amount to Thapa at his home.
Earlier, Rs 658,624 had been collected under the Save Santosh Campaign carried out by the local youths.
Santosh Ranamagar has thanked all the generous donors and said that he now hopes to live.
A big amount is required for a kidney transplant, hence I would like to thank all my fellow citizens at home and abroad for this support, he said.
