Kaski, Oct 30 : Families with poor economic background in Kaski district would be provided with financial assistance to replace their thatched-roof houses with zinc sheets.
A total of 1,874 families would get Rs 50,000 each in grant to replace their thatched-roof house under the Safe Citizen Housing Programme in the current fiscal year.
Chief of District Coordination Committee Bain Bahadur Adhikari said that families with thatched-roof house, those vulnerable to flood and landslide, and others with poor economic background would get the support.
The programme would be implemented in all local levels including in Pokhara Metropolitan City in Kaski.
For the effective implementation of the programme, applications would be collected from the local levels’ ward offices and the beneficiaries would be selected through a survey in accordance to the procedures.
After the survey, the local levels would prepare the lists of the targeted group and send the names to the Federal Project Implementation Unit in, Kaski, for beneficiary selection.
The Ministry of Urban Development of the federal government would directly send the grant amount to the local levels, it is said.
