By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Jan 5: The Kathmandu district administration office on Sunday decided to release the 122 Chinese nationals arrested on suspicion of involvement in cross border cybercrimes fining each of them a thousand rupees for misbehaving the security personnel during the search operation.
However, they have been detained again for violating immigration laws of the country.
The Nepal Police had curbed the Chinese nationals from different locations in Kathmandu in a ‘joint operation’ between police administrations of Nepal and China on December 23.
Uttam Raj Subedi, chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan Circle, said that the Chinese nationals were still in the police custody for breaching the immigration laws and that they would be investigated for the same from tomorrow, Jan 6, onwards.
