Simkot, Oct 21 : Twelve people are trapped at Tumling of Limi area due to heavy snowfall that took place from Sunday.
Four Slovenians, arrived for trekking in Hilsa and Limi of northern Namkha rural municipality of Humla, three trekking guides and five locals are trapped at Tumling.
They are compelled to stay at Tumling following the heavy snowfall from Sunday night in course of returning to Simkot after completing trekking of Limi, said Chief District Officer, Ganesh Acharya.
The team, headed towards Limi via Hilsa from Simkot for trekking on October 8, was scheduled to return back to Simkot via Nyalu pass.
Humla representative of Richa Tour, Pema Lama, said that the 12 people including four foreigners have been compelled to stay at Tumling following heavy snowfall at Nyalu pass from Sunday.
Chairperson of Namkha rural municipality-6, Paljor Tamang, said locals, domestic tourists and foreign tourists have not been able to travel outside the place as the snowfall has blocked the road. Nyalu pass has witnessed more than three feet of snow.
Acharya shared that they have written to the Home Ministry asking to make arrangement of helicopter for rescue.
