Bajura, June 29 : As many as 1,000 houses in Bajura district will get to replace their traditional thatched roof with galvanized zinc sheets under the People's Housing Programme.
The government has aimed to replace all the thatched roofs across the country with zinc corrugated roofs within three years.
Altogether 1,012 households in nine local levels of Bajura have been selected for the first round of replacement for which each household will receive Rs 50,000, according to House of Representatives Lal Bahadur Thapa.
Among the houses selected for the replacement are 58 houses in Tribeni municipality, 135 in Budhiganga municipality, 166 in Gaumul rural municipality, 88 Badimalika municipality, 99 in Budhiganga municipality and 110 in Swamikatrik Khapar rural municipality.
Likewise, 131 houses in Khaptad Chededaha rural municipality, 141 in Jagannath rural municipality and 85 Himalai rural municipality will also get grant to replace their thatched roof, according to Thapa.
