By Deepak Prasad Gautam, Birgunj, Apr.27: Birgunj recorded five COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.
A total of five patients including four females and a male receiving treatment at various health institutions in the city succumbed to the novel coronavirus infection in one day.
Information officer of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre, Parsa Binaya Kumar Shrivastava said, “Four patients under treatment at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj and on at Narayani Vayodha Hospital died of COVID-19.”
Of the five patients, three were from Birgunj Metropolitan City-3, Parsa and one each from Bahadurmai Municipality and Bara.
A total of 17 patients from Parsa, Bara, Chitwan and Sarlahi have succumbed to the virus infection in Birgunj since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
