Kathmandu, Nov 22: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Basanta Kumar Nembang, has expressed his hope that the Xi Jinping's thought would be helpful in Nepal's progress by contributing to the poverty alleviation.
In his address to an interaction programme organised by the Nepal-China Himalayan Friendship Society and the Communist Party of China, External Department on Friday, the Minister, who is also the Society chair, said that the Society was working to prevent anti-China activities on Nepali territory by adhering to the one-China policy.
Nepal-China relations marked the beginning of a new era following the recent Nepal visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the visit made some important achievements such as the opening of trade, transit and northern border points between the two neighbours possible, he added.
On the occasion, former Minister and Society patron Ananda Prasad Pokhrel described the programme as an important opportunity to know about each other's thoughts, principles and practices.
It was stressed that the 'Xi Thought' taught us that continued efforts were essential economic prosperity.
