Kathmandu, Mar 14: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government has not just focused on the country’s economic growth but is also giving an equal importance to the wellbeing of every citizen by ensuring better quality of life for all.
Addressing a national cadres meeting of All Nepal Women Association (ANWA) in the capital on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli said the government was not just focused on improving gross domestic product (GDP) and per capita income but also emphasized on giving equal opportunities and rights to each and every citizen and helping them live a dignified life in a safe environment.
“Only then the national goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ can be translated into reality,” he said.
In another context, Prime Minister Oli said some phony democrats had created problems in the country’s democracy. Democrats should never be afraid of elections, he added.
“There is a problem in politics due to the leaders who are guided by personal interest,” said PM Oli, adding that he only had a dream of materializing, ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.”
Discussing that they had two responsibilities to fulfill, Prime Minister Oli said, “One is to fulfill the political responsibility by driving politics and democratic movement in the right direction. The other one is to fulfill the responsibility of social awakening. The government is doing the same.”
“The country cannot be developed if politics goes in the wrong direction. Politics is the crux of all policies. Some reactionary forces are trying to distort this basic policy and it is our duty to drive politics in the right direction,” said PM Oli.
Stating that there was no other party or leader to lead the country on the right path and push development forward, the Prime Minister said, “Like others, we are not going to propose anyone to become the prime minister. We are going to make the country prosperous under our own leadership.”
He also asked the party leaders and cadres to move forward with the goal of developing the country.
Ruining the party is like ruining the country, said PM Oli, adding that they were working for the country and the country would become prosperous in a few years.
Discussing the many attempts to remove him from the government, Prime Minister Oli said he would face all the obstacles. “If they oust me, the CPN-UML will re-enter the Singha Durbar gate with a two-thirds majority,” he claimed.
He further claimed that there was no one to think about the country and the people except himself.
He also called upon the central committee members close to Madhav Nepal faction of CPN-UML to attend the central committee meeting scheduled for March 20.
