By Keshav Raj Poudel, Kathmandu, Aug.18: According to the Department of Hydrology and Metrology, the chances of heavy rainfall remains minimal despite the change of weather being observed in many parts of the country.
Due to the formation of the low-pressure line in the Madhyapradesh of India, its effect is seen in Nepal as the monsoon low-pressure line of Nepal lies on the southern side.
According to meteorologist Barun Poudel, a slight change in weather is going to be witnessed with minimal to medium rainfall. However, some parts of the country will observe rainfall with lighting and thunderstorm, he added.
Poudel said, "Change of weather will be seen in many parts of the country whereas mild to heavy rainfall will occur in Bagmati State, Gandaki State, State 5, Karnali State and Sudurpaschim State."
He appealed to the public to be alert regarding the possibility of occurrence of rain-induced disasters including increment in water level in water streams, landslide, erosion, and waterlogging.
