Surkhet, Oct 24: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun on Thursday reached Surkhet district as part of his visit to Jumla district to take part in Sinja cultural festival at Sinja of Kanakasundari rural municipality.
Vice President Pun was welcomed at Surkhet Airport by Chief of Karnali State Durga Keshar Khanal, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of the State Naresh Bhandari, social development minister Dala Rawal, Vice Speaker of the state Pushpa Gharti and chief secretary Kebal Prasad Bhandari.
As part of his visit, the Vice President is scheduled to visit tourist sites, Kakre Bihar, Deuti Bajyai Temple and Bulbule Lake in Surkhet district.
On the inaugural occasion of the festival scheduled for October 25, it has been shared that the government would be requested through Vice President Pun to carry out archaeological excavations to preserve actual history of culture and civilisation of the ancient Sinja Valley.
