By TRN Online, Kathamndu, July 13: The Vero Cell vaccine against COVID-19 is being administered today to people aged 55 and above.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, university professors, teachers and staff, drivers and co-drivers working in public transport are being listed as priority besides the 55 and above age group.
Similarly, the Ministry of Health has stated that people in the essential services as prescribed by the government and the Nepali citizens going to the countries where the vaccination has become mandatory for entry will also get the first dose of the Vero Cell vaccine.
Dr. Taranath Pokhrel, Director of Family Welfare Division, Department of Health Services, said, “Vero Cell is to be administered in three provinces, Bagmati, Lumbini and Gandaki.”
Nepal has procured 4 million vaccines from Sinopharm under the non-disclosure agreement with China and 800,000 doses were received in the first phase on July 8 while remaining doses are in the pipeline.
