Kathmandu, Sept 17: A meeting of the National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday passed the 'National Identity Card and Registration Bill-2075 BS'. The bill presented by Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa before the meeting was endorsed unanimously.
Prior to this, the Minister had presented a proposal, seeking consideration for the clause-wise deliberations over the bill received from the House of Representatives and the proposal was accepted unanimously.
The Home Minister in his response to queries put forth by lawmakers in regard with the amendment proposal said the bill was brought after broader discussions and consultations.
He informed the session that the bill would adopt some points included in the amendment proposal. Prior to this, presenting the amendment proposal over the bill, lawmaker Thagendra Prakash Puri and Ramprit Paswan spoke the need of making the document more prosperous.
