By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 16: Dina Upadhyay, Bhishma Raj Aangdembe and Jeevan Pariyar have been elected to the post of joint general secretary of the ruling Nepali Congress.
Gopal Krishna Ghimire, coordinator of the NC central election committee, informed that the three got elected to the post of joint general secretary.
Upadhyay got elected under women cluster, Aagndembe under indigenous peoples cluster and Pariyar under the Dalit cluster in the election held for the post in the 14th general convention of the NC.
Upadhyay got 2,533 votes against her rival Kamal Panta's 2,105 votes, Aangdembe gained 2,711 votes against his rival Bikash Lama's 1,913 votes, and Pariyar secured 2215 votes against his closet rival Man Bahadur Bishwakarma's 2,175 votes.
The vote count of the five joint general secretaries under five different clusters is slated to begin on Friday.
