Kathmandu, Dec. 12: The main opposition CPN-UML has decided to hold district-level convention on January 7 and provincial convention on January 22.
The 2nd meeting of the party central committee kicked off at Gatthaghar, Bhaktapur on Saturday has decided to hold district-level and provincial-level conventions simultaneously across the country.
Briefing to the media after the meeting, party council was formed under the chairmanship of Amrit Kumar Bohora.
During the meeting, the swearing in of the remaining central members was also held, said Pradeep Gyawali.
The 2nd central committee meeting of the CPN-UML will conclude on Sunday.
According to Gyawali, the ongoing central committee meeting is scheduled to discuss 15 agendas, including formation of standing committee and politburo, work division of central committee members, nomination of members in central committee, nomination of vacant office bearers in the provinces.
The meeting would also review the recently convened party’s 10th National Congress. The meeting was not attended by Bhim Rawal, who lost to Chair KP Sharma Oli in the election for the post of party chief.
Despite being defeated in the election, Rawal was elected as central committee member. But he has been refusing to stay in the party central committee.
