Kathmandu, May 13 : The Standing Committee (SC) meeting of CPN (UML) has started at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar to discuss the issues of formation of new government and party’s internal disputes.
President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has called a Member of Parliament (MP) to claim the premiership with the support of two or more than two political parties by 9:00 pm today as per the Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal. President Bhandari made this call on Monday after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli could not get a vote of confidence from the HoR on May 10.
In the intraparty feuds in the UML has taken a new twist after 28 UML parliamentarians including party senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal remained absent in the HoR meeting on May 10.
The UML leadership is considering serious talks with the disgruntled Nepal-Khanal faction as some lawmakers of the group are preparing to resign to support the opposition parties in the formation of new government.
