Kathmandu, Dec. 20: The Chancellor and Prime Minister of Tribhuvan University, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has said that Tribhuvan University should not be accessible only to the limited class with strong financial status. This was stated by Prime Minister Deuba while addressing the 47th Convocation Ceremony of Tribhuvan University on Monday.
He mentioned that the government believes that all citizens should get easy and accessible education. "Education should be for everyone. The government believes that access should not be limited to economically strong people. All citizens should get easy and accessible education," he said.
Encouraging the graduates to become worthy citizens of the country by building the future of their lives and families, Prime Minister Deuba also expressed confidence that the graduates would fulfil their duty towards the nation by becoming conscious and decent citizens.
Vice-Chancellor of the University and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Poudel addressed the function.
Similarly, medals and prizes in 29 categories have been distributed to the first 21 students who get the best marks in the examinations of various levels and subjects of TU. In which there are 13 best female students and 8 male students. Among the best two, Upadesh Subedi and Pramod Nepal have won three medals each.
Subedi has won Chancellor Medal, Tribhuvan University Professors' Association Gold Medal and Ram Prasad Manandhar Gold Medal while Nepal has received Tarapad Chaudhary Medal, Khagendra Man Singh Pradhan Medal and Chandra Raj Dhungel Memorial Award.
Similarly, four persons have received two medals and prizes while 15 persons have received one medal each. Students Shrishti Neupane, Vivek Raj Bhattarai, Pratiksha Singh and Mandira Neupane, who were on the best list, each received two medals and prizes.
