By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 21: Prime Minister and chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) KP Sharma Oli has alleged some party members were planning to stage drama to expel him from the party.
During a meeting with the members of the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR) at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar, Friday morning, he made such remarks.
Surya Thapa, press advisor to the Prime Minister, said that scrums and gatherings held against the party's statute and rules could not remove the PM. "In the meeting, PM Oli said that these gatherings were just an ugly joke to make the world laugh," added Thapa.
Remembering an incident of 2028 BS when some people had expelled him from their group during the Jhapa movement, PM Oli said, "Again, coincidently Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda''s group has been declaring to remove me from NCP. This is nothing but a political drama before the whole world."
"In the meeting, Prime Minister Oli also clarified that he always stood for party's unity while his co-chair Prachanda always rooted for division of the party," said press advisor Thapa.
Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies and member of the Standing Committee of the Party, Lekhraj Bhatta, also said that despite the party members being in the favour of party's unity, chairman Prachanda had chosen the way of division.
