Kathmandu, Dec. 21: Actress Sumi Moktan and choreographer Viju Parki have become the first winners of the celebrity dancing reality show ‘Dancing with the Stars Nepal’ Season One.
This show is the Nepali version of the world famous dancing reality show ‘Dancing with the Stars’, which is based on the format of the British TV series ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ distributed by BBC Studios.
In the final competition held on Saturday, the duo won the title by getting the highest number of votes from the audience.
Along with the title, they received Rs. 2 million. They also received various gift hampers.
The winners were presented the trophy by Himalaya TV chief Dharmaraj Bhusal.
After winning the title, Sumi Moktan said, “As long as people don’t stop dreaming, success will come.”
By thanking the audience, her choreographer partner Viju Parkhi said that they succeeded to win the title with the love of audience and the love of the audience was more important than the cash prize.
They also thanked the technicians who worked behind the scene for their immense contribution to their journey throughout the show.
In the same way, singer Buddha Lama and his choreographer partner Kebika Khatri secured the first runner-up position while actress Priyanka Acharya and choreographer Subham Bhujel were the second runner-up.
They have also received various gift hampers.
During the live show, actor Bhuwan KC announced to offer the jobs of choreographer and singer to Buddha Lama and Kevika Khatri respectively in the next film of his son Anmol KC.
The show was aired by Himalaya Television every Friday and Saturday.
The judges for the show were Gauri Malla, Dilip Rayamajhi and Rensha Wantawa Rai. The show had 12 star contestants.
After the end of this show, Himalaya Television is now preparing to broadcast the singing reality show ‘The Voice of Nepal-3 and the digital audition for the show has already begun.
